In rural Guatemalan communities, it is common for students to drop out of school after finishing 6th grade, for girls it is even earlier. This is due to cultural norms, the economic necessity that all members of the family work as well as undervaluing education. The Jabal Tinamit Spanish School was created to strengthen rural communities, creating a social program that provides education for students living in impoverished, rural areas. The school provides full tuition scholarships to students who then give back to their home communities providing Saturday tutorials to the local children.
Additionally, Gregario and Candeleria dream to give back to their communities. They launched Forging My Tomorrow (FMT) FormaGuatemala.org in 2011. They apply business principles and accountability to the vital programs below. In the US you can donate through Youth Unlimited, a receipting organization that partners with them.

As a native of Guatemala, Luis has a heart for the children and their future in difficult circumstances such as poverty and education. A few years ago, the Guatemalan government passed legislation allowing teaching of Jesus in public schools regarding morality and service.
The problem in Guatemala is education is not enforced, only 46% of children in Guatemala go to school. His organization has the vision to author, train and teach a curriculum class in Character Development (based on biblical principles) in several schools in four City-States of Guatemala. This is taught 28 each school year. He is proud to be part of a growing number of parents and organizations committed to improving the lives of people and preaching the love of Jesus to a generous people.
- Curriculum books — Luis provides curriculum materials to over 3,000 school children on morality and service. We have 5 books for teenagers and 2 books for kids in Morals and Principles. From elementary to high school. Design, layout and printing cost $5,000/year.
- International engagement — Luis runs a 40 bed ranch for groups wanting to support projects in the Antigua and Pana areas. Luis hosts Missions Teams, including organizations, churches or individuals that want to come and participate in our work around Antigua Guatemala, Ciudad Vieja or other cities.
- Pastor — Luis is pastor in a church in Ciudad Vieja. He and his wife continue to teach Jesus in a variety of methods to the communities of Antigua, San Pedro and Ciudad Vieja.
US donations are accepted through the charitable Youth Unlimited organization. YU is a receipting organization providing US donors a means to support projects in Guatemala.

Dr. Francisco and his wife Carina live 4 hours from his clinic in Guatemala City in San Pedro in the Sololá District. There are approximately 424,000 people near his home that have little or no access to medical care. Due to cost and cultural norms, most families see a Shaman. Seeing the need for a hospital in his native community, Dr. Francisco started Hospital San Pedro. This has been funded by Dr. Francisco and a partnership with University of Kansas School of Medicine.
Youth Unlimited has partnered with Dr. Francisco to assist in completing this project. As children often begin working out of elementary school, there are many injuries and emergencies besetting children and mothers and fathers who mostly do manual labor. Only 35% of the locals can afford care with most of his work being done pro bono. This is a vital project as poverty and nutrition are low on the government’s priorities.
